Judy Steed

Judy Steed is a journalist and author. The recipient of four National Newspaper Award citations for feature writing, she worked at the Globe and Mail from 1981 to 1989, when she joined the Toronto Star, where she is currently based. She wrote the number one bestselling political biography, Ed Broadbent: Pursuit of Power, and Our Little Secret: Confronting Child Sexual Abuse in Canada (in which the work of Harvey Armstrong and Mary Armstrong is highlighted). As a journalist she has worked at Queen's Park and in the Ottawa bureau, and has covered international and national political issues as well as social, cultural and sports stories. She worked at CITY-TV and as a film and TV producer. She teaches yoga at the YMCA and enjoys accompanying her therapy dog Celeste to the long-term care facility where Celeste works.
